Public Rooms

Our bars are small and traditional and as such these areas are for those that are over 18years of age.  We retain the traditional ways in that there should be a place for adults to talk freely.  At the same time families should have space to enjoy each other, whether over dinner or hot drinks and a game or two.

Well known as the 'Aidensfield Arms' as depicted in Yorkshire Televisions popular series 'Heartbeat', where they filmed all their 'local pub' scenes for the first four years.

Come and see the Aidensfield setting but be charmed by our unspoilt traditional bar and hotel.

Our Lounge  is plush, cozy and relaxing, this is adjacent to our traditional bar. Sit in the bay window and watch the world go by or be entertained by the tropical fish tank and its colourful occupants.

Families  are very welcome in our two large family rooms equipped with some traditional games, children's books, fish tank, high chairs and digital photo frames displaying photos of Goathland before during and after the filming of Heartbeat and throughout the seasons. The Lounge Bar and Public Bar are for children over 18 years only, however we are happy for you to take photos in the bar as a family and if we have a free moment we will gladly take these for you.

Beer Garden great for long summer days. Our spacious beer garden is to the back of the pub with views over our village cricket pitch and up over the moors. Outdoor seating is also available on the front of the building for those that like to people watch.

We welcome walkers, cyclist, bikers, coach parties and dogs with their owners. Dogs are allowed in all public rooms provided they are kept on leads, on the floor and we respectfully ask they do not disturb other guests.

Bed and Breakfast guests please note that the only place dogs are not permitted is at the breakfast table, thank you.

We welcome Dogs, Walkers, Cyclists and Bikers
